Customer Review: great macro
i really did not know what to expect when i got this “lens” i have been truly surprised. i have taken about 500 shots, 50 keepers so far. mostly leaves and seeds. it is not what i call a true macro lens. but it beats having my bag on me at all times. i went for a walk and had it in my pocket. put it on my 70-200 and it did an outstanding job. does not work so well with the wide angle lens eg 17-40. bit of a learning curve, but once you get the idea, it does do a good job.
for the money, it is well worth the investment.
Customer Review: A macro for 1/4 the cost of a macro
I got this lens to work with my Sony A700 and Tamron 70-200 2.8 zoom. That lens already has Macro capability but only 1:3. This lens brings it to about 1:1.
I haven’t done any scientific tests with it, but with some casual shooting it has preformed great. The tough thing with macro is always that the depth of field is short. Once you learn how to focus and even bracket your focusing things work out much better.
Bottom line, I’m glad I got it.
