Customer Review: Perfect economical lens.
I have had this lens twice. I am a semi-pro photographer that doesn’t have $1000 to spend on a lens. So after much research I went with the sigma. The first one I had worked flawlessly, but I broke it… re-ordered it and I still have my second one. I’ve had it for about 2 years. over 5,000 pictures or more and I can’t tell the difference between it and a Canon L lens I use from work. I will say the ONLY con of this lens is that it is not built as well as the Canon L lens and the zooming isn’t as smooth… but.. I don’t plan on changing over any time soon. I am looking for the image quality and relatively sturdy lens. Sigma pulls this off great. Other than a little bit of a stiff zoom the lens is perfect. image quality as I said is just as good as the Canon L series, trust me I know. I have taken over 40,000 pictures. There isn’t any difference.. and if there is it isn’t worth double the price for a canon L series. Sigma is awesome. keep it up.
Customer Review: Low quality, Poor construction
I ordered this lens to go with my Canon XSi. The lens didn’t hold it’s position (every time you moved the camera, the zoom of the lens would change) so the result was blurry photos. Even when the photos were in focus, they just lacked a certain…something. Do yourself a favor and go for the Canon branded lenses.

The Close-Up lens, which is simply mounted in the front of our normal taking lens, permits the taking of close-ups and also makes possible the photography of details which would be quite impossible without using the Close-Up lens. The easy to use solution for getting extra close. These lenses enable you to get much closer than the minimum focus of the standard camera lens - as close as 4 inches from the subject. Ideal for cataloging small items and focusing on details.
Customer Review: Fantastic
I have been completely happy with this set of add on’s. While I know they do not replace a quality macro lens they are providing me with excellent learning opportunities, while I save for my Macro lens.
Customer Review: Digital Images Close Up
This is a great product at an economical price. I’ve already gotten detailed photos of minute objects such as close ups of our high school class ring for our 50th Reunion Book as well as the engraving of the ring manufacturer and the carrot weight on the inside of the ring. I also got some great shots of photos of cars from the 1950’s for the same project. The lenses come in a nice pouch too.

Customer Review: AWESOME!
I am a semi professional photographer and this lens ROCKS! For the price you can’t beat it! When using this lens in auto focus, you can still adjust the focus manually with the shutter half way down (Canon). It helps because when things are far away it is sometimes soft on focus. That is the quick fix! Aside from that, the OS, optical stabilization works great and you would not be disappointed with the results! It is cheaper than an “L” lens and guess what..?…It can shoot fast and sharp!
Customer Review: Get it, what are you waiting for?
Wowww, I love it! I read all the reviews, asked folks that have one on the photo site flickr.com and anyone else I could. Those that had one had nothing but praise for it. Currently it’s the only lens I’m using and don’t plan on taking it off any time soon. I have used it to get wonderful pictures of eagles, osprey, fox, you name it and it really helps by getting that extra reach that my Sigma 70-300 just couldn’t give me. I use the canon monopod that Amazon sells most of the time when possible but isn’t 100% neccessary especially when trying to capture flying birds ect. The price is great for the bang this lens gives you. I got it from 47st photo in 2 days and with free shipping through Amazon. I’m using it with a Nikon d40 and have been so glad I did. A great blessing! My next upgrade I hope is for the d90, hopefully sooner then latter. The OS works very well but you can’t expect miracles at 500mm if your all over the place. I’ve been trying to zoom out when I begin to track a flying bird at any distance and then zoom in on it as I try to capture it, other wise you’ll never find it. There are 2 settings for the OS and #2 seems to work best for my conditions. If you’ve got decent light and a lot of my shots are early in the morning and in the woods, this lens will astound you. There are at times some hunting, especially if there are vines or obstructions in the way you may have to move the camera a bit to get by them but it’s just seeing what you give it. The lens also does a wonderful job at macro shots by zooming in your close subject. I think 7 ft is the closes it will allow you focus on an object. I did purchase a 7yr extended warrenty by Mack for almost nothing just for that extra peace of mind. Did I say I really, really like this lens! You can check out some of the shots I’ve got by clicking my flickr link here. My e-mail address is there as well if you have any further questions. Hope this helps. BTW, my wife has really enjoyed the results this lens has helped me get. Hey that’s always a good thing;) http://www.flickr.com/photos/21183284@N05/

Optimized for digital cameras, this high-performance lens has two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass elements in the front lens group and one in the rear lens group. It’s the ideal lens for portraits, sports photography, nature photography, and other types of photography that frequently use the telephoto range.

High optical performance is demonstrated throughout the entire zoom range. The lens features a switch that converts the lens to macro photography at focal lengths between 200 millimeters and 300 millimeters, with a minimum focusing distance of 37.4 inches. In normal mode the minimum focusing distance is 59.1 inches at all zoom settings.
Customer Review: Works well with D60
I’m no expert, but this seems to work well with our D60. Comes with case and lense cap. Needs a 58mm filter.
Customer Review: Good for beginners
I purchased this lens in 2007 when I started getting interested in photography and had gotten myself a Digital rebel XT with the kit lens. About a month after I got the camera I saw the need for a zoom lens and at that time the only other option, within my budget, was the Canon 70-300 and many forums and people i spoke to warned me not to get the Canon 70-300 (bad quality, slow ….). So I was left with going for the sigma 70-300.

Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC AF OS (Optical Stabilizer) Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC AF OS (Optical Stabilizer) Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras The Sigma 18-200mm high-zoom-ratio lens is designed exclusively for Canon digital SLR cameras and is capable of covering a wide range of focal lengths, from wide-angle to telephoto. Two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass elements and two hybrid aspherical lenses correct for all types of aberrations, letting Sigma house the extended-range super-zoom lens in a compact and lightweight body that measures 70mm in diameter and 78.1mm long and weighs a mere 14.3 ounces. The new lens coating, meanwhile, reduces flare and ghost–a common problem shared by many digital cameras–while also creating an optimum color balance. Other details include a minimum focusing distance of 45cm (17.7) at all focal lengths, a high zoom ratio of 11:1, and a maximum magnification of 1:4.4.

The lens design incorporates an inner focusing system that prevents the front of the lens from rotating, making it particularly suitable for using circular polarizing filters and petal-shaped lens hoods. In addition, the overall length of the lens never changes during focusing, making the lens convenient to handle and easy to use. Finally, the lens’s zoom lock switch eliminates “zoom creep” during transport–a convenient addition when traveling. The lens, which includes a metal mount, is backed by a one-year warranty.
Customer Review: this lens is big
I use this lens on my Canon Rebel XTI as a replacement for the EF-S 18-55 1:3.5-5.6 II that come with the kit. I am generally impressed and satisfied with my purchase.

Customer Review: Great for the money!
I bought this lens to pair with a Pentax K200D. My experience with it over the past month has been fantastic. It’s worth the “long distance macro” alone. My first use in macro was on bees. Handheld shots were nothing difficult.
The 300mm telephoto….isn’t. I limit my zoom to just short of 300mm, usually in the 260mm range. Otherwise, nasty distortion comes into play. No matter. I’m not a pro, and this thing delivers far more than I expected.
The finish is like a powder coat flat black, and all markings are sharp.
I bought a second one. At this price it’s too good to pass up. Nice to have an identical back up in case a bad thing happens.
When I researched a lens for the Pentax I was looking for value. This is it. If you’ve been poking around reviews for an XXmm - 300mm, this’ll do.
Customer Review: wonderful lens for the price
this is a great lens for the price. so far i love its ability’s and performance. this is truly a nice lens to have if your into nature photography and or sports photography.
